As part of The Harris Your Place project, we collaborated closely with local communities to shape the future of The Harris, and your ideas are now coming to life in the new space. 

Here’s just some of what you asked for, now coming to life:

• Tea Display: Featuring community-curated hotspot labels.
• Gallery Two: A dedicated space for artists to showcase their work at The Harris.
• Inclusive Collections: New acquisitions that represent a broader range of backgrounds and stories.
• Artist Led: A group exhibition featuring six contemporary artists from The Birley Studios, each responding to works by regional artists in The Harris collection.
• Wellbeing Gallery: Artworks selected by community groups to promote wellbeing.
• No.9: A space created by young people, for young people.
• Community Hub: A computer space featuring paintings chosen by IT Centre users.
• Enhanced Accessibility: Including a Changing Places toilet and more open entrances throughout the building.
