Black History Month: Celebrating Its Centenary Year

All are welcome at this free drop-in event to celebrate 100 years of Black History Month created by Eufro Hair Salon and Preston Black History Group.

In 1926 Carter G Woodson launched the first annual event that evolved into Black History Month (his first event was in 1924). This year’s event follows the theme from last year to discuss:

• Slavery – History or Mystory?
• Cultural Origins – Music, Dance, Food and Religion.
• Learn Skills with Natural Hair – Hands-on demonstration.
• Competitions – Prizes, Food and Refreshments.
