Staff Recommendations: Young Readers

Whether you are young or young at heart, sharing stories and reading aloud provides numerous benefits. We have started a tradition at the Harris where staff share a Younger Readers’ Picture Story.

This book review is for ‘#Goldilocks‘ by Jeanne Willis and Tony Ross.

If you enjoyed our previous recommendation Chicken Clicking you are bound to love this story. This is a modern twist to a classic fairy tale. What would happen if Goldilocks had a mobile phone and wanted to increase her social following? A hilarious adventure which is likely to make you fall off your chair (not Baby Bear’s of course!).

Another great read to introduce internet safety which; like Baby Bear’s porridge; you will be ‘bowled’ over. It will be to everyone’s ‘taste’. Has this review given you a good ‘flavour’ or plenty of ‘food for thought?’ Why not provide us with some ‘feed-back’ on our social channels?

Reserve your copy here.

(We can assure you that our library’s copies are not stolen – that would be un-bear-able!)!

A graphic showing this month's staff young readers pick. The cover of the book is yellow and features an illustration of three brown bears and goldilocks dressed as a robber.
