Dressmaking Workshops

Sold out

To celebrate the Harris’ upcoming exhibition, Horrockses Fashions, Encounter Festival’s Procession is going to be led by a Horrockses-inspired commission created by prolific Preston artist, Joshua Holden.

This is an opportunity to be part of this project. Join these workshops to learn how to create dresses inspired by Horrockses fashions – and possibly even volunteer to wear one in Encounter’s Torchlight Procession on September 19th!

These workshops are free, there is no experience necessary and all materials will be provided to help create four dresses for the procession. The dresses will remain with Encounter after this year’s festival, adding to the festival’s growing archive of special Preston achievements.

Please book on to as many workshops as you can attend – we encourage you to sign up for all the workshops to learn all aspects of making these dresses but understand that that may not be possible.

These workshops are funded by Preston City Council and Arts Council England.
