A Measure of Care: Celebrating the Exhibition

Artists Ruth Levene and Ian Nesbitt invite you to an event celebrating their exhibition A Measure of Care.

The exhibition charts expressions of love, care and grief across three moments in time. Taking a ledger completed in 1888 that documents ‘a list of birds observed or taken in the neighbourhood of Leagram within a radius of 4 or 5 miles from the hall’ from The Harris’ collection back to the place where it was written.

A two-screen video and accompanying works reflect on the many changes that have taken place since, focusing on the rapid decline of bird species and stepping another 137 years into a speculative future.

From 6.00pm – refreshments served in the 1st floor Reading Room and a chance to visit the exhibition in the 2nd floor Art Library

7pm – An in conversation with the artists in the 1st floor Reading Room, led by Charles Quick, Emeritus Professor Public Art Practice, Co Curator In Certain Places
