The Lamb Lies Down on Broadgate

Featuring live music and slide show illustrating the history of live music in Preston from the late 1950’s through to the late 1990’s.

The show chronicles the rise of Skiffle and the birth of Rock & Roll through to the heady days of The Beatles and Flower Power. The Punk and New Wave movement in the 70’s and Indie and Dance music that came out of clubs like The Warehouse, Clouds and Tokyo Jo’s.

Featuring a wealth of stories and memorabilia that tell the story of legendary performances by artists of the highest order who regularly came to Preston such as The Beatles, Bowie, Queen and Led Zeppelin.

People have been kind enough to share their extraordinary adventures with Dave for his upcoming book. This evening will take you back in time and put you on the front row of venues like The Public Hall, The Guild Hall, The Catacombs, The Amethyst, Clouds, The Warehouse, Preston Polytechnic.

Personal stories of meeting the bands, camping out for tickets, the drama and excitement.
