Preston City Council Arts and Cultural team looks after and manages The Harris, the events and festivals programme and supports the development for the creative sector. Here you will be able to find out about Preston’s 12 year Cultural Strategy: Something’s Brewing, resources available to support you as a creative, details of how you can join the Council’s artist mailing list or get in touch with the team for a chat about your work and how we can help.

IWM 14-18 NOW Legacy Fund Artist

The Harris is delighted to announce the artist selected for its highly anticipated commission supported by the IWM 14-18 NOW Legacy Fund. Renowned Egyptian artist Khaled Hafez will be the creative force behind the new artwork set feature in The Harris upon its reopening in 2025.

20/20 Project: Hannah Sabapathy

The Harris is delighted to announce we will be working with talented artist Hannah Sabapathy. 20/20 is an ambitious 3-year programme announced by UAL Decolonising Arts Institute.

To commemorate the history of textile manufacturing in the Preston area, the mural celebrates the journeys, long and short, that Courtaulds Ltd employees made drawing attention to the diversity of the workforce that came together and continues to contribute to Preston’s rich textiles heritage.
