Welcome to No.9

A creative, inspiring space shaped by young people, for young people.

No.9 is a brand-new space at The Harris, dedicated to supporting and celebrating Preston’s young people.

No.9 isn’t just a room. It’s a response to what local young people told us they need most: space to be heard, to feel safe, and to express themselves.

Everything about No.9 has been shaped by young people from across the city. From the layout and furniture to the art on the walls, their ideas and experiences have guided the design. It’s a space that reflects their world, honest, creative, diverse, and full of potential.

Whether you want to read, create, connect, or just take a break, No.9 is yours.

What’s in No.9 for me?

Art that speaks to you
The walls of No.9 showcase works chosen by young people, art that reflects the themes you care about most, from identity and activism to mental health and belonging.

A blend of library and gallery
It’s a space where books, history, and culture sit side by side, giving you the tools to learn, question, and create.

Events and drop-ins
We’ll be hosting regular workshops, meet-ups, and creative sessions designed to support wellbeing, confidence, and self-expression.

A place to just be
No pressure. Whether you’re into art and ideas or just need somewhere to feel calm, No.9 is open to everyone.

This is your space. Make it your own.
