The Museum and Art Gallery will be closed until 2025 for the exciting Harris Your Place project.
The library will temporarily relocate to the Guildhall.
Between Monday 4 October and Saturday 18 October you will be able to access library services online – there is a huge selection of e-books and magazines for you to take a look at. If you prefer to use in-person services then visit Lancashire County Council – Find a Library to find your nearest library during the Harris’ closure. We will also offer a ‘Six of the Best’ collection, click here to find out more.
You will be able to drop off books and pick up ordered books from the entrance to the Harris until we re-open in the Guildhall on Monday 18 October.
Computers will be closed during this period.
From Monday 18 October, The Harris library services and IT services will be available for all in its new ‘home from home’ in the Guild Hall.

BROWSE AND BORROW! Visit the library to pick up new books or to pick up your reservations. We have lots of new titles in all genres for you to browse and choose. All books are issued for 3 weeks.

Our computer service is also available from 18 October in the Guildhall. Please book at the Guildhall library desk.
The Harris will be maintaining Covid-secure measures to prioritise the safety of our visitors and staff and we strongly advise to wear a mask.
