Digital Resources for Harris Kids
The Harris is a great place for children of all ages to learn and explore.
Although we are closed at the minute, this doesn’t mean that children can’t continue to get involved in everything The Harris has to offer. From an online version of The Harris’ collection to a number of just-for-kids resources on the website, here you’ll find out about all the different ways that The Harris is continuing to support children’s growing imagination and thirst for knowledge.
The Harris’ website and ArtUK are home to digital versions of the entire Harris collection. There are over 1200 paintings and sculptures displayed on ArtUK, and the Collections section on The Harris’ website features everything from fashion to photographs and so much more!
Is there a child in your life who fancies themselves as a history buff? Maybe they’re a little fashionista. Perhaps they’re fascinated by books or songs. Head over to The Harris’ online collection and tour the items – you never know what you might discover.
The library section of The Harris’ website offers even more digital resources for kids.
There is lots of information about what activities are on for children at the library in Preston Guild Hall as well as some content you can enjoy at home. The Harris Library hosts Baby Bounce & Rhyme at Preston Guild Hall and there’s also the option to join along at home in your own time. More information about this can be found in the library tab.
The Harris Library is part of the Lancashire Reading Trail Scheme which encourages children aged between 5 and 12 to open a book, turning reading into a fun and exciting challenge. For the younger ones, The Harris promotes the Little Steps reading scheme for children aged 2 to 5. Look on the website or pop in to The Harris Library for more information about reading schemes.
