How to make a book – simple and fun Bookbinding with artist Caitlin Akers.

Ever wanted to make your own book from scratch? Come along to a hands on workshop where Caitlin will show you how to fold and sew paper using real bookbinding tools.

She will show you how to create a few awesome book styles – like a simple stitched pamphlet book and a concertina book with hard covers. By the end you will walk away with a set of books that you have designed yourself and the skills to make loads more.

All materials and tools are provided, just bring your creativity!

Caitlin is a very practical person. She is a visual artist based in Preston – she has an artists studio at The Birley Artists Studios near Preston Market, she is also a lecturer on the Art Foundation Course at Manchester Metropolitan University. She is skilled in Printmaking, Bookbinding, Letterpress and a LOT of other areas!
