Spooky Puppet Making
Date: Monday, 23rd October
Times: 10-11.15 am, 11.45-1pm
Location: The Guild Hall Foyer
Min recommended age 5yrs. Younger children could participate as long as they have support.
Recommendation for Guardian support for all through the workshop.
Our journey into the world of enchantment begins with Spooky Puppet Making. It’s the perfect opportunity for children aged 5 and above to unleash their creativity. Led by the talented Magic Light Productions, young artists will craft eerie yet delightful puppets. These handcrafted creations are sure to bring a touch of magic as we approach Halloween.
Spooky Goings On: UV Puppet Show
Date: Monday, 23rd October
Times: 2.15pm, 3pm, 3.45pm, 4.30pm

The fun continues with the Spooky Goings On: UV Puppet Show. Led by the brilliant Magic Light Productions, this colourful UV puppet show promises singing, clapping, and cheering.
An Evening of Victorian Magic

Join us for an evening of Victorian Magic. Explore the haunting history behind some of the most famous Victorian illusions. Witness these illusions brought to life for a night of mystery that will leave you in awe.
Spooky Stories
Date: Tuesday, 24th October
Times: 11.15-11.45am, 1.30-2.00pm, 2.15-3.45pm
Location: The Harris Children’s Library
Recommended age 5+.
Gather around in the Harris Children’s Library for spooky stories. Our storyteller, Shelia Walsh, will entertain you with tales of witches and more. Why not become a library member and continue the story at home?
Preston’s Haunted Tales
Date: Tuesday, 24th October

As the night falls, join the Lady in Black for Preston’s Haunted Tales. Gather in the darkness of the Guild Hall to hear chilling ghost stories told by professional storyteller Sheila Walsh. It’s an evening that promises to send shivers down your spine.
Spooky Family Film – Coco (PG)

Bring the family for a special screening of Disney/Pixar’s Coco. Follow Miguel on an extraordinary journey in the Land of the Dead as he unravels the mysteries of his family history. It’s a heartwarming adventure filled with music and magic.
Spooky Family Film – The Addams Family (PG)

Step into the macabre world of The Addams Family. They live with all the trappings of the macabre, including a detached hand for a servant. Join them on a quirky adventure filled with laughter, spooky surprises, and eccentric characters.
Spooky Mask Making
Date: Friday, 27th October
Times: 10am-11am, 11am-12
Location: The Guild Hall Foyer
Recommended age 5+.
Unleash your inner Halloween spirit with spooky mask making. This hands-on workshop allows you to bring your own mask designs to life. With specially designed templates, you can customize your mask with a wide array of colours and decorations. Children will leave with their own creations.
Halloween Edition of Baby, Bounce and Rhyme
Date: Tuesday, 31st October
Times: 10:30am-11am
Location: The Harris Library
We have a special, spooky edition this week for Baby Bounce and Rhyme. Sharing songs and rhymes is a fun way for babies and toddlers to develop their language skills. Fancy dress is optional!

Harris Your Place is a £16 million project set to restore and reimagine the Harris for 21st-century audiences as a cultural learning space. The aim of this project is to protect the building and the architecture for future generations whilst enhancing accessibility options and positioning the Harris as a community hub for Preston and Lancashire.
The capital project is more than simply preserving this much-loved building; Harris wants to ensure that it remains a vibrant heart of the community. A place where people want to spend their time.
